La Rioja Vineyards

La Rioja

La Rioja is Argentina's third biggest wine region, located in western Argentina at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. The mountainous terroir is known for producing excellent Torrontés, the crisp white grape that has become famous in recent years.

Climate and Growing Conditions

The warm and semi-desert climate has an extreme thermal amplitude. Days tend to be hot, and nights are cool. These conditions are ideal for cultivating Torrontés. The vineyard is located 1,000 meters above sea level.

Terroir & Soil

Since it rains less than 200 mm per year, drip irrigation is key for this type of terroir. The soil is deep, sandy loam of alluvial origin, with very good drainage.
